Vote for Your Favorite Air Max in Nike’s 2018 Sneaker Design Competition

Vote for Your Favorite Air Max in Nike’s 2018 Sneaker Design Competition

In previous years, Nike has launched public voting contests like the Vote Back campaign, which resulted in a retro of the atmos "Elephant” Air Max 1, and the Vote Forward campaign, which saw the final release of Sean Wotherspoon’s Air Max 1/97 dream shoe. Now, the Swoosh is again allowing the public to decide which sneaker designs will leave the drawing board and come into fruition with Nike: ON AIR.

What began as design workshops to celebrate this year’s Air Max Day has now become a full-fledged competition, currently with 18 finalists — 3 artists each from 6 major cities around the world. Hailing from Paris, London, New York, Seoul, Shanghai, and Tokyo, designers incorporated significant and unique aspects of their city such as cityscapes, architecture, metro/subway systems, nature, and culture. Participants were able to select from a range of 10 Air Max icons — 1, 90, 180, BW, 93, 95, 97, 98, 270, VaporMax Plus — and articulate a design that reimagines the environment and experiences of their respective city.

Check out the 18 finalists and cast your vote for your favorite design once per day now through May 13 at https://onair.nike.com. The winning designs from each city will be announced on May 14, 2018. Now the question remains: are you going to support the artists repping your city and your country; or are you going to vote for the best overall design regardless of the artist's location?
